{"id":18434,"date":"2018-10-29T09:35:38","date_gmt":"2018-10-29T09:35:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yorkonafork.com\/?p=18434"},"modified":"2021-02-11T14:30:06","modified_gmt":"2021-02-11T14:30:06","slug":"garbutt-elliot-launch-second-annual-food-entrepreneurs-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yorkonafork.com\/2018\/10\/29\/garbutt-elliot-launch-second-annual-food-entrepreneurs-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Garbutt &#038; Elliot launch second annual Food Entrepreneurs awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Garbutt + Elliott 2019 Food Awards opened for entrants on October 19<sup>th<\/sup>, celebrating the wonderful food and drink offerings in \u2018God\u2019s Own County\u2019.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>The awards highlight the county\u2019s growing position within the national and even international marketplace and were set up in recognition of entrepreneurs and businesses from across Yorkshire who have been part of creating the county\u2019s great food industry.&nbsp;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a strong client base in the food and drink sector, Leeds and York based accountants, Garbutt + Elliott wanted to celebrate the industry and encourage small and large producers, manufacturers and retailers to showcase their successes, within a supportive and collaborative awards scheme.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Announcing the launch, Managing Partner, Russell Turner, said: \u201cWe are looking for the cream of the crop and the cherry on the cake! Every business has a story to tell and we look forward to entrants from businesses that do things differently, be them producer, manufacturer, grower or seller.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regional food and drink sector is growing both in size and recognition and Garbutt + Elliott are excited to be a part of a movement positioning Yorkshire\u2019s plethora of businesses at the front of the game.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Garbutt + Elliott see first hand, on a daily basis how forward-thinking and innovative the regional food and drink sector is. With clients, in the sector ranging from micro-breweries, to national producers and high-street retailers, it makes perfect sense for them to celebrate all that Yorkshire has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All areas of the industry are covered within the award categories, which are sponsored by regional food champions, and include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Best Innovation<\/li><li>&#8216;Deliciouslyorkshire&#8217; Taste Award<\/li><li>Growth Business of the Year<\/li><li>Best Partnership<\/li><li>Young Business of the Year<\/li><li>Best Yorkshire Exporter<\/li><li>Best Yorkshire Brand<\/li><li>Yorkshire Grit Resilience Award<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline for entries is January 25, 2019. A shortlist will be announced in February 2019 on the Garbutt + Elliott website and via social media.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span>Winners will be announced at an awards event on March 7, 2019 at Kirkgate Street, in the Castle Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses can enter by simply providing basic company information, submitting 300 words for the chosen category and sending any supporting documents before the deadline.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span>It is also possible to nominate other businesses for a category.
